Note : This is a semi dry dish.
Ingredients :
Kabuli chana (chickpeas) 2 cups
Onion 1 no
Tomatoes 2nos
Ginger/Garlic paste 1/2 tsp
Fresh corriender leaves few for garnishing
Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
Chana Masala 3 tsp [I would remommend MDH Chana Masala]
Garam Masala a pinch [ optional]
Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil 2 tbsp
Method :
1. Soak the kabuli chana (chickpeas) over night & pressure cook the next day.
2. Finely chop tomatoes, onion & corriender leaves.
3. In a pan or kadhai heat oil add cumin seeds, allow them to crackle.
4. Add ginger/garlic paste &onion. Saute till light golden brown.
5. Add all the masalas & tomatoes & saute till the masala is well cooked & soft. (If u use garam masala add it at the end.)
6. Add the boiled chana and very little water & salt. 1/2 cup water should be sufficient as this is a semi dry dish. Now add the garam masala. Stir well.
7. Cover the pan & allow to cook for sometime.
8. Serve hot with Naan, rotis or paratha.
9. Enjoy!
