Palaka che dal Bhaji ( Palak aur Dal ki Sabji )

This is an Maharastrain Sabji. It really tastes good with rotis & plain rice. 
Very simple & tasty dish.


Ingredients :

Palak (Spinach)                               1 full pack
Onion                                              1 no (finely chopped)
Tomatoes                                        1 1/2  (finely chopped)
Ginger/ Garlic paste                         1 tsp
Curry leaves                                    2-3 nos
Green chillis                                     2 nos ( chopped)

Toor Dal                                         11/2 cup
Peanuts                                           3 tsp

Mustartd Seeds                                1/2 tsp
Hing                                                  a pinch
Red chilli powder                             1 1/2 tsp
Haldi (Turmeric powder)                  1/2 tsp
Corriender powder                           1 tsp
Cumin powder                                  1/2 tsp
Salt                                                   to taste
Oil                                                    3 tsp


Method :

1. Wash & chop the palak. Wash the toor dal.
2. Pressure cook palak, toor dal & peanuts together until soft.
3. In a bowl whisk together the cook dal & palak mix. Keep aside.
3. In a pan or kadhai, add some oil. Add mustard seeds & allow them to crackle. Add hing.
4. Add chopped onions & ginger/garlic paste. Saute till translucent.
5. Add all the masalas & tomato & saute till well cooked.
6. Add the toor dal & palak mix in the masala. Add salt & mix well.
7. Cover the pan & allow it to cook for sometime.
8. Serve hot with chapati & rice.
9. Enjoy!

Tip : Tadka will give this sabji more flavour. You can make the tadka & keep aside as a choice.

To Make Tadka : In small pan or kadhai take some oil, add mustard seeds, hing & red chilli powder.
