Ingredients :
Bread 6 slices
For Coating :
Besan 2 cups
Water as required
Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
Haldi (turmeric powder) a pinch
Salt to taste
For Stuffing :
Potatoes 2nos ( boiled & mashed)
Onion 1/2 cup ( finely chopped)
Green peas 1/2 cup ( boiled & coarsely mashed )
Green chillis 2 nos
Turmeric powder a pinch
Red chilli powder a pinch
Mustard seeds a pinch
Salt to taste
Oil 2 tsp
Oil for shallow frying
Method :
For Stuffing :
1. In a pan or kadhai heat some oil add mustard seeds.
2. Add chopped onions & saute till translucent. Add red chilli powder & turmeric.
3. Now add mashed potatoes & green peas. Add salt & mix well.
4. Cover the pan & let the sabji cook for 5 mins.
For Coating :
1. In a bowl mix besan with water. Add red chilli powder & turmeric & salt. Mix well.
2. Let the batter be semi thick.
Main preparation :
1. Cut the bread in triangles.
2. Place the potato sabji on one slice & place another slice on the top. Press lighly.
3. Dip this sandwich in the besan batter & shallow fry till light golden brown.
4. Serve hot with tomato ketchup or green chutney.
5. Enjoy!
Tip : Serve with Tea or Coffee as a snack.
