This is Marastrian dish made with Jowar flour. Very simple and quick to make and nutritious too.
Ingredients :
Jowar flour 2 cups
Onions 1 no ( chopped )
Green chillis 2 nos ( chopped )
Fresh corriender leaves finley chopped
Garlic paste 1 tsp
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Corriender powder 1 tsp
Cumin powder 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil as needed for shallow frying
Water as needed for making a dough
Method :
1. In a large bowl or parat mix all the ingredients together. Except oil.
2. Add water and make a very soft dough. It has to so soft that you can spread it like the tava or pan with hands.
4. Heat tava or griddle, season it with some oil.
5. Make a small ball of the dough, place it on the pan and spread it flat with the hands. While spreading or patting the ball wet the hands a little. In this way the dough will not stick to the hands and spreading will be easier.
6. Make 2-3 holes on the thalipeeth and apply little oil. Do not make it too thick. It should be thiner than a paratha and thicker than a roti or phulka. Cover a lid.
7. One side of the thalipeeth becomes brown turn the thalipeeth the other side and again apply little oil.
8. Serve hot with curd or pickle.
9. Enjoy!
