Crispy Veg

Its an Indo-Chinese dish. Mixed veggies coated and tossed in Indo-Chinese sauce.

Ingredients :

  • 1/2 cup cabbage chopped in medium size cube
  • 1/2 cup capsicum chopped in medium size cube
  • 1/2 cups medium sixe cauliflower florets
  • 1/2 cups carrots chopped in medium thick slices
  • 1/2 onions chopped in medium size cube
  • 1/2 cup babycorn chopped in thick strips
  • Shredded cabbage and spring onions for garnishing

For Batter :

  • 6 tbsp cornflour
  • 4 tbsp maida / all purpose flour
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder 
  • 1/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 green chilli finely chopped

For Sauce :

  • 1 tsp oil
  • 3tbsp Soya sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 4 cloves of garlic roughly chopped
  • Red chilli sauce to taste
  • Tomato ketchup to taste
  • Garlic and chilli sauce to taste 

Method :

1. In bowl mix all the ingredients under batter and make a medium thick batter.
2. Add all the chopped veggies to the batter and mix well.

3. Heat oil and fry till light golden brown as shown in the picture below. And keep aside.

4. To make the sauce. Heat 1tsp of oil in a pan, chopped garlic and saute for a second. Add garlic-chilli sauce, soya sauce, red chilli sauce and vinegar. Mix well. Keep the heat low.
5. In a bowl take 1/2 tsp of corn flour add little water and mix well.
6. Add this cornflour mix to the sauce in pan and mix well. This thicken the sauce.
7. Let the sauce cook for a minute.
8. Add all the fried veggies and mix well.
9. Garnish with shredded cabbage and spring onions. Serve hot.
